Name of the project : SHADOW (System for High-level Authentication of Data based On Wallets)

Type of project : Research projects

Summary:

This project focuses on securing health data in a crisis situation.

The circulation of information in a health crisis context runs a strong risk of voluntary degradation via cyber-attacks, fake news, manipulation, fabrication, destruction or data theft. This degradation impacts the reliability and efficiency of health authorities’ ability to make decisions and lends to the proliferation of fake news on social networks. The public’s trust and confidence in scientific, health, and government authorities is weakened as a result.

The goal of this project is to create an ecosystem around a distributed platform (SHADOW) based on blockchain technology and intelligent multilateral contracts (smart contracts), where shared data from different sources (smartphones, sensor networks, social networks, etc.) are considered (degree of reliability, unverified, false) by machine learning approaches to be stored in a tamper-proof and secure manner in a blockchain. The aim is to prevent the spread of unilateral, malicious or unqualified information.
